As someone who has spent years documenting the people, places, and everyday life of Pennsylvania, it’s always rewarding to see my images help illustrate stories about the towns and communities I know so well.
Pennsylvania Towns Through My Lens
The article highlights eight towns across the Commonwealth — places where history, community, and opportunity intersect. Several of these towns are locations I’ve photographed extensively over the years, building a visual archive of small‑town life, main streets, architecture, and the culture that defines the region.
Carlisle
Carlisle’s walkable downtown, historic streets, and community events make it a favorite subject. From autumn street scenes to the Carlisle Theatre and the energy of Summerfair, the town offers endless editorial moments.
Chambersburg
Chambersburg’s Memorial Square, historic churches, and surrounding orchards create a mix of urban and rural storytelling. Its proximity to Michaux State Forest and Gettysburg adds depth to any visual narrative.
Lititz
Lititz is one of the most photogenic towns in Pennsylvania — and one I’ve photographed countless times. From Main Street, Lititz Springs Park, and the iconic Julius Sturgis Pretzel Bakery, the town’s charm is unmistakable. WorldAtlas frequently uses my Lititz imagery, and it’s great to see it featured again.
Gettysburg & Surrounding Region
While not the focus of this specific article, Gettysburg appears in many WorldAtlas features and remains one of the most historically rich places I cover. Its streets, battlefields, and downtown storefronts continue to be among my most licensed images.
