WorldAtlas Features My Images Again: Maryland’s Most Eccentric Towns

It’s always a good day when I discover that my editorial images have been published again — and this time, they appear in a fun and quirky WorldAtlas article highlighting “8 Most Eccentric Towns in Maryland.” You can read the full feature here: https://www.worldatlas.com/cities/8-most-eccentric-towns-in-maryland-60658.html

WorldAtlas continues to be one of the most consistent outlets licensing my regional photography, and I’m grateful every time my work shows up in one of their travel or culture pieces. Their editors have a great eye for images that capture the personality of a place, and Maryland is full of towns with plenty of personality.

This new article explores some of the state’s most unusual, offbeat, and character‑filled communities — places with historic charm, waterfront quirks, artistic flair, and the kind of visual details that make editorial photography so enjoyable. Several of my images were selected to help illustrate these towns, adding context and atmosphere to the story.

As always, these photographs come from my ongoing work documenting the Mid‑Atlantic region. Whether I’m photographing small‑town main streets, waterfronts, festivals, or everyday life, I’m always looking for scenes that feel authentic and rooted in place. Those are the images that tend to resonate with editors — and the ones that keep getting licensed again and again.

I never know exactly which photos will be picked up next, and that’s part of the fun. One day it’s Pennsylvania river towns, the next it’s Maryland’s coastal communities, and sometimes it’s a quiet street scene I captured while passing through on the way to another assignment. That unpredictability is one of the reasons I continue submitting regularly to my agencies, including Depositphotos, where I’ve recently resumed uploading new work.

Seeing my images used in articles like this reinforces why I love editorial photography: real places, real moments, and real stories — shared with readers around the world.
