Music and a Large Crowd, despite Cold Weather, Marks the Christmas Tree Lighting and the Arrival of Santa
Downtown Ephrata was transformed with a large crowd and plenty of children to witness the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus, as well as the official lighting of the town’s official Christmas Tree. A cold, chilly, and windy night did not dampen the spirits of those in attendance.
A laser light show changed the look of the downtown and lit up the sky.
Santa and Mrs. Claus first appeared on top of the Ephrata National Bank Building and awaited rescue by the brave volunteers of the Ephrata Pioneer Fire Company.
They soon emerged safely from the bank to greet the children and the crowd.
Rich and Casey from WIOV were the emcees of the show.

In downtown Lititz, on the main street of the Coolest Town in America, there were live hillbillies. Seems like they made the right turn at the wrong time and ended up in the July 4th Lions Club annual Patriotic Parade. The crowd seemed to enjoy the homegrown hillbillies, homegrown from the hills of Lancaster County.
