Major Winters Grave

I am still working on a great American Heroes photo project. One of those heroes is Major Richard “Dick” Winters, a native of Lancaster County. Major Winters served in World War II as the commander of Easy Company (Company E), 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, in the 101st Airborne Division. The stories of his and his comrades were featured in the 2001 HBO television mini-series “Band of Brothers,” based on the book by author Stephen Ambrose.

Major Winters’s grave is located at the Bergstrasse Evangelical Lutheran Church cemetery in Ephrata, PA.
