There was a bridge builder in Oregon – and when I got the Google Alert that said “George Sheldon Died” – I checked my pulse. It wasn’t me.

There were, the last time I checked, over 2100 George Sheldon’s – I haven’t bothered to look lately.

But Google just reported that George Sheldon’s mug shot is online:

I am not that George Sheldon! This one is in Florida, and much younger than I am. His mug shot was on the mug shot web site:

An Amish grave site in Lancaster County, PA.

Most people never see an Amish grave but their cemeteries are simple. The head stones are easily recognizable, as they include their name, date of birth, date of death, and their age in years, months, and days. This image is one I created in Lancaster County, in the heart of a major Amish church district. I chose the angle to show the Amish farms in the background. This image is being placed in my online stock photography gallery.

Although I should have been working on my online gallery, the weather was just too good to be inside. Those skies called. And I was out enjoying the day and the imagery. I will be adding this one to my online stock collection.

Over the coming weeks, there will be major changes coming to the georgesheldon sites (including the photography galleries). This is now possible because of the PhotoShelter upgrade. While my sites may be changing a bit, the contact forms will remain active and available for use. Should a link go dead or become inactive, it should be temporarily unavailable. It will be back soon.

The end result will be a larger and bigger site. Stay tuned, because here I grow!

Today’s photo is an overview of the Mud Sale held in Gordonville, near Paradise, Pennsylvania. The Plain People – the Amish and Mennonites, are known to attend these large auctions. Their support helps to benefit the local volunteer fire companies.

A variety of hex signs on a building in Lancaster County, PA

Today’s photo is a simple one consisting of hex signs I noticed while shooting a video in Lancaster County. These signs, which are reproductions, were neatly tucked up under a roof eave along the Old Philadelphia Pike in Leacock Township.

When the skies are deep blue, they just call me. That’s what happened this day when I photographed a ferris wheel against the crisp sky. I like this image and I am adding it to my stock collection.

Spring arrived early this year, and the gorgeous weather just made the St Paddy’s Day parade in York, PA that much more enjoyable.

With temperatives in the mid-70′s (technically, it’s still winter here in southcentral Pennsylvania), folks were enjoying the festivities in shorts and tee-shirts. An old-fashioned small-town parade kicked off around 1 PM on St. Patrick’s Day. Bands marched through the center of the city as thousands lined the downtown streets.

These are the first proofs of the day – I created over 500 images. Many will be added to my online stock image bank.
