More than You Probably Ever Wanted to Know about George Sheldon
I am a Lancaster, Pennsylvania photographer. These days, I specialize in creating editorial and stock images. When I am not busy creating stock or shooting for a magazine or book publisher I photograph people at events, or produce headshots, and portraits.I have also done my share of writing, certainly enough to call myself an author – I have penned over 35 published books.
A native Pennsylvanian, the people, places, and events in, around and near the Commonwealth inspire much of my work. Whether it the technical or emotive sides, creating imagery is my passion that continues to challenge and inspire me.
I have written and published over 35 books (I’ve actually lost count of how many I created). My topics included history, business, and technology. All of my books were nonfiction.
Some included my photography.
Some of my books that include my photography are When the Smoke Cleared at Gettysburg, Fire on the River, and Pennsylvania: Field Guide to State History.
Here are some of the other books I created:
I sold my first photos when I was 13 – and I am still behind the lens over 50 years later.
